About Me
This is the story of a four-year-old, round-faced me discovering a spinner rack of comic books for the first time. I instantly fell in love with the dynamic pictures and powerful stories of excitement and adventure. In that moment, I began a life-long love of comic books, creativity, and nerd-culture. Those goofy books helped to shape me into the person I am today, and I will forever be grateful for their influence on me.
I harnessed the lessons those book taught me and built a career as a graphic designer and illustrator which has lasted over twenty years, but I came to realize that I was missing out on opportunities to tell stories and share information in other ways. As my professional career evolved away from retail design, I found myself really enjoying the work I was doing in education and outreach around medical and governmental issues but I was began hitting the ceiling of how far I could advance without further education. So, I formulated a plan and headed back to school. I received a bachelor of science in Communications and in 2023 I will receive a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology.
Whether it is laying out a website or writing course material, I enjoy the process of design. I’ve found that I especially enjoy creating e-learning which allows me to utilize my artistic skills to weave together multimedia and storytelling.
I live in Papillion, Nebraska with my wife, Candise, our 4 amazing kids, our dog and two lazy cats.
